Homeless Mothers Seize Homes

How can you “shelter in place” or practice social distancing when your family doesn’t have secure housing to begin with? BreakThrough spoke with Martha Escudero, a mother without housing, who is helping organize the takeovers.

She says, “There are families waiting in shelters for 3 years to be housed while the state is hoarding its houses. To me that is immoral and unacceptable.”
